Finding your true, best you as a speaker or presenter is a highly individual process and you can work with us in a number of ways, depending on your needs and availability as either a professional or leadership speaker.

We could work together over a series of days in-person in my office in Highbury, or in a series of shorter sessions online.

In each case, we’ll start by getting to know each other with a free, no-obligation, 30-minute Zoom. 

We’ll talk about you, the speaking you’ve done and the speaking you’d like to do and find the shape of the journey ahead and the very best way for us to work together with purpose and momentum.

I’d recommend you start your work with me with either a day-long, one-to-one, in-person day at my office or with a programme of 3 90-minute one-to-one sessions online. Both of these will be entirely bespoke for your needs and goals. No one-size-fits-all processes or frameworks. Just you and me collaborating on asking and answering big and small questions with honesty, imagination, care and curious, open minds.

Whichever way we work, the focus will be on YOU and the unique tones, experiences, drives and insights that make up your voice as a speaker.

I’m Paul Dornan – True Funny founder, a hugely experienced and award-winning TV, film and radio, comic and dramatic writer.

In over 30 years working with words, people and audiences, I’ve collaborated with a galaxy of stars from Dame Edna Everage to the Spice Girls to Christopher Lloyd from Back To The Future and created comedy dramas, sitcoms, children’s series and films for BBC, ITV, Sky and many others on shows that have won awards and sold around the world.  I also co-wrote a funny book that was a Sunday Times Number 1 best-seller for 6 weeks and was a key member of the original creative team of the Bafta-nominated and  British Comedy Award-winning ‘Big Impression’ with Alistair McGowan’.

As a creative mentor and teacher, I run the Writing Light Comedy course at the world-famous Faber Academy in London and have taught comedy and creative writing for How To Academy and The Arvon Foundation.

In the business world, I’m a speaker coach, Keynote Speaker and Masterclass Expert, a Director of a creative brand and design company and a Professional Member of the UK Professional Speakers Association.
